Player Market
When to use the player market
Before buying from the market, check the Item Shop (Town → Item Shop) to see if the item is available at a lower price. While purchases there won’t count toward market-related tasks, they can help you avoid overpaying, especially for higher-tier tools.
You can also consider trading directly with other players. Since the market applies a 6% tax, sellers only receive 94% of the listed price. For example:
- A 100,000 gold listing gives the seller 94,000 gold
- A direct trade for 94,000 gold benefits both sides This approach depends on your willingness to negotiate and how much you value convenience versus savings.
Some items, especially higher-tier tools—are often listed above their Item Shop price due to demand. Unless you are buying to support other players, it’s worth comparing prices with the Item Shop before purchasing.
Player Market Limitations
There are a few limitations and costs to keep in mind:
- A 6% tax is applied to all listings
- Items can only be bulk-listed in groups of up to 20
- Listings can only be removed one at a time
- Items can only be purchased one at a time
- Prices must be between 100 and 2,000,000,000 gold
If you make a pricing mistake or the market shifts, adjusting listings can take time due to these restrictions. For bulk purchases, such as crafting materials, it may be more efficient to contact sellers directly.
While it is fine to reach out to other players to discuss trades and purchases, do not DM unsolicited advertisements to other players, as this violates rule 1.3.
Completing Purchase Tasks
If your goal is to complete a purchase task, the simplest option is to sort by price and buy the cheapest available item (often low-cost items like cheese).
If you’re willing to spend more, buying in bulk can also help with collection-related progress.
Which items to buy for your collection will be covered more in Collection.
Selecting Gear Upgrades
When upgrading gear, sorting by stats is usually the most effective approach. High-end items will often be very expensive, but as you browse, you may find items that offer similar or better stats at lower prices. Comparing listings carefully can help you spot good value.
Many items provide multiple stats, so it’s important to prioritize based on your build. In general:
- Crit tends to be the most valuable (and expensive)
- Strength is also highly valued
- Defense is typically more affordable For amulets, strength-focused options are the popular choice.
You should check out Stats to decide what you want to prioritize in your player build.
Looking for the best gear
Top-tier (“best-in-slot”) items are sometimes available on the market, but not always. Prices for these items can exceed the market cap, making direct trades more common.
If you’re aiming for the very best gear, you may have better luck through:
- Direct trades
- Trade/Ads chat
- Bulletin boards
